I was browsing the Fresno County Department of Public Health website today over my customary morning cup of coffee and found this site. I wanted to pass it along because it’s chalked full of great information and resources that all promote good sexual heath.
WHAT ARE STD’S?
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections that can be passed on through vaginal, oral or anal sex, and anyone who is sexually active can get an STD. Sexually transmitted diseases are more common than you may think – and they’re on the rise nationwide and in Fresno County.
WHY GET TESTED?
The Fresno County Department of Public Health encourages anyone who’s sexually active to practice safe sex and to get tested. By getting tested for STDs and practicing safe sex, you can protect yourself from STDs and improve the overall health of everyone in our community.
While STDs can have visible symptoms, it’s common for people to not have – or recognize – any symptoms. The only way to know if you have an STD is to get tested.
