BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhhouse opened their first location(s) here in California, with the first city being Santa Anna, and headquartered in Huntington Beach. There are over a hundred BJ’s now, having expanded into Oregon (after acquiring the Pietro’s Pizza chain) and across the entirety of the USA, including states like Texas and New York. There are especially many BJ’s in the Bay Area. But here in the Central Valley, there is only one BJ’s, and that is here in Fresno near the Fashion Fair Mall. I haven’t been there much yet, but I can say that it is very much like Applebee’s—Good food, reasonable prices, and most importantly, Happy Hour! I think BJ’s wings taste better though (I especially enjoy the Nashville Hot seasoning).

I like drinking a variety of beers, and BJ’s makes a lot of their very own beer, and have a large selection of other beers as well, all of which can be enjoyed with cheaper happy hour pricing. As far as I know, Happy Hour is M-F 4pm-7pm & S-T 9pm-Close. They also serve excellent house margaritas that are $5 during happy hour, and dare I say, they are just as delicious as Applebee’s margs. However, I am writing this post because BJ’s is serving a rather interesting cocktail: The Lucky Ducky. There is no happy hour pricing for it, but at over $10, you’re getting a huge drink… In a tub! And it’s basically an AMF with coconut rum and more of a candy flavor.
