Me-N-Eds Coney Island in Fresno

Me-N-Eds as a pizza chain is a weird thing. It is an inconsistent experience with each and every location; some locations are large, some decidedly subpar, some small, some with no bars, and some with very great service and happy hour specials. As such, there’s precisely one Me-N-Eds that I consider the best in Fresno: Me-N-Eds Coney Island. Sure, there’s a ton of kids, but they have their own separate spaces in the arcade room (rather than running around the restaurant) and dedicated party rooms (which also makes for a great way to celebrate one’s birthday). The bar area is totally kids free (in my experience), so it is perfect for adults to focus on drinks and eats. It features a self pour station, but I’d rather do cocktails at the bar.

The biggest benefit is the long happy hour, which on weekdays goes from 3-6pm and 8pm till close. Many drink options have their prices slashed by half, with the same going for food options as well, with prices starting at just $3 for food and $6 for real cocktails. But that’s not the best part: It is the only Me-N-Eds to serve a gargantuan, New York style pizza that measures at 18 inches in diameter. If you get a slice of pizza at the bar, you also get free cups of ranch and jalapenos, which Me-N-Eds charges $1 (or more) for. You may want to bring your own chili flakes however, or at least a pair of scissors, as this location only serves packets for chili and grated Parmesan cheese that are impossible to open by hand.
