West Shaw Avenue in Fresno, particularly between Blythe and Goldenstate Boulvevard, has had ongoing construction for a while now, but it’s changed a whole lot more than when I was last in the area a month ago. Parts of the Golden State Boulevard are now closed, and accessing businesses in between is more difficult. What’s the construction for? For the most part, for the High Speed Rail Project. But whether or not that ever comes into existence during our lifetimes, there is something good to come out of this: an overpass. That’s right, no more trains blocking W Shaw Avenue. At least, whenever the construction is more finished. For now, once you go past Blythe, it becomes much more difficult to turn around to find a new route on trains parking on W Shaw like there’s no traffic.
