Fresno Philharmonic: Totally ’80s

We’re like totally celebrating one of the most decadent decades of music – the 80s! Relive rock, R & B, and new wave hits from icons like George Michael, Phil Collins, Blondie, Huey Lewis & The News, Cher, and more. It’s the perfect reason to break out your Swatch watch, tease up your hair, and enjoy some bodacious music! This event takes place at the William Saroyan Theatre on Saturday, October 21, 2023, 7:30 pm.

Beethoven’s Ninth

Commemorating the 60th anniversary of JFK’s 1963 nationally televised speech that led to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, this performance of Damien Geter’s Symphony No. 1: The Justice Symphony, centered on anthems from the Civil Rights era, highlights contemporary challenges in social engagement. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Choral closes our season with the joyful confluence of Music Director Rei Hotoda, the Fresno Philharmonic, the Fresno Master Chorale, and special guests Karen Slack, Sarah Mesko, Adam Diegel, and Damien Geter.
