Fresno Philharmonic final concert: Beethoven’s Ninth

Fresno Philharmonic has its very last concert left in its 2022-2023 season. Mark your calendars now and make plans to attend. The show is less than a month away on June 11th.

Beethoven’s Ninth

Commemorating the 60th anniversary of JFK’s 1963 nationally televised speech that led to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, this performance of Damien Geter’s Symphony No. 1: The Justice Symphony, centered on anthems from the Civil Rights era, highlights contemporary challenges in social engagement. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Choral closes our season with the joyful confluence of Music Director Rei Hotoda, the Fresno Philharmonic, the Fresno Master Chorale, and special guests Karen Slack, Sarah Mesko, Adam Diegel, and Damien Geter.

Who you gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS!

Who hasn’t seen Ghostbusters (1984)? Even if you have, there will be nothing like it on October 29th, 7:30pm at the William Saroyan Theatre. The Fresno Philharmonic will be performing the film’s original score (by Elmer Bernstein) live, conducted by Elmer’s son Peter, as the movie is displayed on a large screen.

COSTUMES ARE ENCOURAGED!

Ghostbusters, bumble bees, witches, and ghouls…come dressed up! Be mindful that you’ll need to be able to sit comfortably throughout the concert. Look out for fun photo opportunities in the lobby before the concert.
